Thank You, NBC

SPOILER ALERT!!!
AND—SORRY, AMY.
For giving us this great gift called The Office. Seriously. Could y'all BE any more excited that Jim and Pam are engaged? I was at a viewing party, and I think we all held our breaths in the few seconds it took her to say yes. I was so nervous. Sigh. I was getting worried about Pam and her new art school buddy. Sure that isn't the last we've seen of him. But, for now, ahhhh yeah.

I heart Jim, er, John Krasinski. Can someone please hook that up?

Um...I'm actually not excited. I was hoping they'd wait a bit before they showed them getting engaged. I just don't want them to run out of stuff for Jam. I was hoping for a little buildup.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I want them to be together. I was just hoping for more...suspense.

But overall: Season premiere sucked me in and wouldn't let go (that's what she said).

I'd hook you up with Jim, but he'd probably end up falling in love with me, and then things between us would be awkward.

Oh, Summer, I just couldn't bear the thought of a 10-year Jam romance a la Friends' Ross and Rachael.

That's not fair, Bowlby. Of course Jim would fall for you. You have that cute baby and all.

Oh! Hey, can I "baby-sit" Luke next weekend?

Uh, Stephanie, I recorded this on my DVR. I couldn't watch it last night because of all my mom duties. And now you've totally ruined it for me. Boo!

And P.S. Why don't you ever ask to babysit my kids? I know they're not all chubby and cuddly but they have awesome personalities.

Funny, Amy, when I was in high school, all the girls with awesome personalities ALWAYS got picked first over us chubby cuddlies...weird how that changes, huh?

Steph—I mean, I didn't want it to drag out like R&R like Friends, but I was thinking they'd wait a few episodes in.

KB—Story of my life. If I had nickel for every time I hooked a friend up with a fictional character and it turned into a sordid love triangle...sigh. I'd have enough nickels to buy all of Dwight's desk accessories from the vending machine.

Woah, Amy. Did you just call my kid chubby?

Steph: Why did you put "baby-sit" in quotes? Are you going to pimp my kid at the beach?

DOH! Crap, Amy. I'm sorry. I've now added a spoiler alert. Fat lot of good that does you now. Although, to be fair, the news is everywhere. You never would've made it through today without finding out. Yeah. Deflect, deflect.

And, if you'll notice, I want to "baby-sit" Luke, not baby-sit him. So, if you'd like me to pimp out your kids whilst trying to score myself a man, I'm in.

Yes, Katie. Will you let me?

You've not just spoiled it for Amy, but Andy as well. Gee, thanks, you Schrutebag!!

I cried like a baby (I need a baby-sitter too I suppose) when Dawn and Tim hooked-up at the end of the BBC version. But why would you want to hook up with Jim? Pam's where it's at. . .

Katie, I meant chubby in that sweet, squishy baby way! In fact, now that I think of it, can I "babysit"? Wait, make that babysit. No quotes. No pimping.
Stephanie, Kate is way better for attracting attention. She'll go right up to any man you want and tell them to get your phone number. Luke can't do that, now can he? Nope. So come pick up this kid whenever you want.

Steph, I just wanna cry, but this helps - an e-mail at work (copy and paste from the Bama fan, no editing):

One of the funnier I things I saw this weekend was during halftime when UGA showed the first half highlights on the jumbotron. Hilarious. They show a Morena run for 3 yards and a 8 yard pass completion. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I start yelling "blackout, blackout, blackout" to all of the UGA fans around me. My buddy snapped this
picture. Evidently, I was not well received in Sanford Stadium.

I would have used both hands if I was that guy.
