Alert: New Pet Peeve

Don't you think it's rude when you are standing in a long line at, say, The Hob, and when another register opens, people behind you scurry over to the new short line? Isn't the person next in line to be checked out supposed to be helped first?

Yes! That happens here all the time. I didn't know people in Alabama did that. I thought they were nice.

It's shocking how true colors come out when you're looking at a quick check-out!

Well...in theory, yes, that is how it should work. However I'm not going to say I haven't scurried to the new line before.

Every situation is different (babies, old folks, etc), but on the whole it is very rude and unfortunately happens all too often. I think it goes along with the majority of the states's inability to merge properly in any situation....everyone is always just looking out for themselves! (not that i'm bitter or anything...;)
